This gently rounded yunomi combines a modern sensibility with the natural beauty of traditional Japanese pottery.

Its soft silhouette fits comfortably in the hand, while the raw clay surface peeks through the glaze, adding a warm, earthy texture.
A pale blue glaze flows organically over the cup, creating subtle drips and delicate shifts in tone—each piece a unique expression of fire and craftsmanship.

Perfect for slow mornings or quiet breaks, this cup brings a calm, grounded presence to your daily ritual.

Please note: The glaze flow and color may vary slightly from piece to piece due to the handmade process. Each yunomi is one of a kind and cannot be selected individually.

Crafted by Earth and Flame - Kanya Yamamoto
The clay is sorted from the soil, then crushed, water and aged enough before being used. The glaze is made by grinding the ashes of straw, fir and various trees into the powders, refine them and mix with stones. To use a potter's wheel, take a time and effort while kicking it, be relaxed.

During firing, at least for 5 days with peace, it needs to raise its temperature to 1300 degrees Celsius and aggressively burn the clay using the climbing kiln.

Using firewood as fuel is time-consuming and cumbersome and using the climbing kiln is low-yield. But with all that time and effort, the clay gets firm and cools down slowly, resulting in a more detailed penetration of clay.

A vessel shows a unique expression of power and vigour and the natural distortion gives a deep colour to its surface.
